Frequently Asked Questions

What does the five-pack contain?

Five CE285A black toner cartridges, individually sealed, each rated at 1,600 pages. They are the standard cartridge for HP's compact LaserJet family — the LaserJet M1132, P1102, M1212nf and related machines — so a five-pack is simply five of the unit your printer already uses, bought in one carton.

How does five cartridges map onto a school or club office year?

Comfortably, for most. A school office printer handling letters home, registers and worksheets might finish a cartridge every six to ten weeks during term; five cartridges cover the academic year with the summer break as a natural stock-check point. A quieter club or parish office, printing mainly at weekends and month-ends, will stretch the same pack further still.

The office closes for the summer. Will the spares keep?

Yes. Sealed toner cartridges are indifferent to a quiet season — the powder inside does not dry out, and a cartridge stored flat in its bag, in a dry cupboard out of direct sunlight, will print as well in September as it would have in June. Note the arrival month on the carton and use the oldest stock first when printing resumes.

Can the pack be split between the office printer and the library printer?

If both machines take the CE285A — and most of this compact platform does — the pack is a shared pool by design. There is no pairing or registration between cartridge and printer; a unit from this carton fits whichever machine's bay is empty. Keeping one stock for several machines is precisely what a five-pack is for.

What if we open a cartridge and it does not perform?

It is covered on its own: the range carries a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, detailed on our shipping and returns page, so a faulty unit is replaced or refunded without disturbing the rest of your stock. Our team answers questions Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

Who is the five-pack really sized for?

The steady middle: too much printing for single cartridges to feel organized, not enough machines to justify a storeroom. Five deep is the point where toner stops being a recurring errand for most small organizations and becomes a line in the annual supplies order.

About This CE285A Black Toner Cartridge 5 Pack

Five standard CE285A cartridges — the 85A — priced at $59.79, each rated at 1,600 pages, for the compact HP LaserJet platform. It is the annual-rhythm pack: sized so that a school, club, parish or small practice orders once and thinks about toner rarely.

In the HP compatible range it is the planner's size. Enough depth for a year of ordinary volume or a shared pool across two machines, in one carton that fits an ordinary supply cupboard — with dispatch from Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California when the year turns and it is time again.
