Frequently Asked Questions

Why does nobody notice when the yellow runs out?

Because yellow fails quietly. Text stays sharp, and prints simply turn cold — greens lean blue, warm tones flatten, photographs lose their sunlight. The C8552A is the cartridge behind that channel: the HP 822A yellow, rated at 25,000 pages, priced at $139.08.

How can I tell the yellow is really empty and not something else?

Print a colour test page and look at the yellow block specifically: pale, streaky or missing yellow there confirms the supply. Before that, check the stamp on the cartridge in the yellow bay — C8552A is the code this family uses on printers such as the Color LaserJet CP4525dn, and matching it removes the guesswork.

What does 25,000 pages of yellow actually look like in an office?

The rating is a five-percent-coverage comparison figure, and yellow usage swings wildly with content: a month of full-colour brochures can outdrink a quarter of ordinary documents. What the number tells you is the class of supply — this cartridge is designed to remain installed through long stretches of departmental printing.

Can I just keep printing until the colours look truly wrong?

You can, and many offices do, because the printer will not stop you. The risk is presentational rather than mechanical: the job that reveals the empty yellow is usually the one that matters. Holding this cartridge as the shelf spare turns that discovery into a two-minute swap instead of a spoiled run.

Does fitting it involve any other parts?

None. The imaging drum is built into the cartridge on this platform, so the C8552A is the entire yellow supply. Open the bay, exchange the cartridge, and the channel is fully renewed — no drum order, no second fitting.

What backing comes with the purchase?

The cartridge is covered by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns; the details live on our shipping and returns page. Stock ships from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, and help is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
