OfficeJet 4500 G510h

The HP OfficeJet 4500 G510h prints with the HP 901 ink family. Original HP codes for this family: CC653AN, CC656AN, CC654AN, with rated yields from about 200 to about 700 pages. Every Clever Supplies cartridge below is a compatible built to the original specification — same fit, same rated yield, lifetime warranty — and this page lists exactly which ones the OfficeJet 4500 G510h takes.

Cartridge	Colour	Approx. yield
CC653AN	Black	200 pages
CC656AN	Tri-color	360 pages
CC654AN	Black	700 pages

Printers like the OfficeJet 4500 G510h carry their printheads inside the cartridges, so every cartridge change is also a printhead renewal. That design makes these machines forgiving of age and irregular use — a dried-out head is replaced, not repaired — and it makes the quality of the cartridge you buy the single biggest factor in how the printer prints.

Which HP 901 ink should you buy?

901 Black (CC653AN) — $25.49 — the everyday text workhorse
901 Tri-color (CC656AN) — $26.99 — all three colours in one cartridge
901XL Black (CC654AN) — $26.99 — the everyday text workhorse — high yield, lowest cost per page
901 Set of 2 — $49.47 — full restock in one box — best total value
901 Set of 5 — $112.43 — full restock in one box — best total value

The 901 family predates HP's dynamic-security system — there is no chip-blocking firmware on these printers, so a compatible cartridge is accepted on the strength of its fit and ink alone.
