• Has HP discontinued the 901?

  Yes — HP has ended the 901 line and points owners of newer machines to HP 60. For the OfficeJet 4500 and J-series printers on this page, our remanufactured 901 remains the supply line, and no dynamic-security firmware exists on these models to block it.

• Do these cartridges include the printhead?

  Yes — on this family the printhead is part of the cartridge, so every cartridge in the set brings a fresh printhead with it.

• Do all the cartridges have chips?

  Yes. Every cartridge in the set carries a new compatible chip that reports its own ink level to the printer.

• Is the set better value than singles?

• Can I install just one cartridge from the set?

  Yes. Open and install only the colour the printer asks for, and keep the rest sealed — they store fine for when their turn comes.

• My printer shows a warning after installing — what do I do?

  Acknowledge the message, reseat the cartridge until it clicks and restart the printer. Most warnings are a one-time notice that a non-original cartridge was fitted.

• Is this cartridge remanufactured?

  Yes — with the original 901 discontinued, the compatible supply is a professionally remanufactured cartridge: cleaned, refilled, fitted with fresh components where worn, and print-tested before it ships.

• Is this an original HP set?

  No. It is a Clever Supplies compatible set built to the original HP specifications and covered by our lifetime warranty. It is not manufactured by HP.

• What if one cartridge in the set is faulty?

  Contact us with the colour and the problem — the lifetime warranty covers each cartridge in the set individually, so a single faulty cartridge is replaced on its own.

• Which cartridge in the set runs out first?

  It depends on what you print: text-heavy use drains the black first, photo and graphics work drains the colours. Each cartridge reports its own level, and the spares from this set store sealed until their slot asks for them.
