ENVY Photo 6222

HP ENVY Photo 6222 printer

The HP ENVY Photo 6222 prints with the HP 64 ink family. Original HP codes for this family: N9J92AN, N9J91AN, with rated yields from about 415 to about 600 pages. Every Clever Supplies cartridge below is a compatible built to the original specification — same fit, same rated yield, lifetime warranty — and this page lists exactly which ones the ENVY Photo 6222 takes.

Cartridge	Colour	Approx. yield
N9J92AN	Black	600 pages
N9J91AN	Tri-color	415 pages

Printers like the ENVY Photo 6222 carry their printheads inside the cartridges, so every cartridge change is also a printhead renewal. That design makes these machines forgiving of age and irregular use — a dried-out head is replaced, not repaired — and it makes the quality of the cartridge you buy the single biggest factor in how the printer prints.

Which HP 64 ink should you buy?

64XL Black (N9J92AN) — $34.49 — the everyday text workhorse — high yield, lowest cost per page
64XL Tri-color (N9J91AN) — $35.99 — all three colours in one cartridge — high yield, lowest cost per page
64XL Set of 2 — $65.97 — full restock in one box — best total value
64XL Set of 5 — $157.43 — full restock in one box — best total value

The cartridge carries a new compatible chip that reports ink levels to the printer. If a firmware update ever causes a recognition warning, reseating the cartridge and restarting the printer clears most false alarms; anything that still refuses to print is covered by the lifetime warranty.

HP+ note: if your printer was set up with HP+, it accepts original HP cartridges only — that lock is part of the HP+ program and applies to every non-original cartridge, ours included. On printers that are not HP+-locked, these cartridges install and print as normal.
