Frequently Asked Questions
What does toner for our 3335 cost per month on this pack, realistically?
Work it back from pages. The pack costs $465.22 and holds five 330-8985 cartridges rated at 14,000 pages each — 70,000 pages at about 0.66 cents per page. If your 3335 prints 5,000 pages a month, that is roughly $33 a month in toner and the pack lasts about fourteen months; at 8,000 pages a month, roughly $53 a month over about nine months.
Is 330-8985 the cartridge number we should reorder by for the 3335?
Yes. 330-8985 is the part number for this high-yield black cartridge, and the number is the safest thing to put on a purchase order: printer names get mistyped and model lists change, but the part number identifies this exact cartridge every time.
How much does the 5-pack save against buying singles?
Five singles at $107.84 would total $539.20. The pack is $465.22, so the saving is $73.98 — put another way, after four cartridges at the single price the fifth effectively costs just $33.86, and every cartridge in the box works out to $93.04 instead of $107.84.
Our 3335 sits in a small office, not a department — is five too many?
It can be. If the machine prints under 1,500 pages a month, one 14,000-page cartridge lasts the better part of a year on its own, and five would sit in storage for years. The pack's economics assume steady volume; light users serve themselves better with a single or the 2-pack and the shelf space back.
Is this a genuine Dell cartridge?
No — it is a compatible 330-8985 manufactured by a third party to the same specification. The facts you can hold it to are on this page: the 14,000-page rating per cartridge, the $465.22 pack price and the warranty and returns cover described below.
What happens if a cartridge in the pack fails?
Each one is covered by a 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. Full terms are on our shipping & returns page.
