Frequently Asked Questions
This listing says "Premium Quality" but costs the same $465.22 as the standard 330-8985 5-pack. What is actually different?
On the measurable facts, nothing we can point to. This pack and the standard 330-8985 5-pack carry the same price, the same five cartridges, the same 14,000-page rating per cartridge and the same warranty. "Premium Quality" is a label on the listing, not a different specification — so judge this pack on the numbers below rather than on the wording.
What are those numbers, exactly?
Five compatible black high-yield cartridges, 14,000 rated pages each — 70,000 pages in total — for $465.22. That is $93.04 per cartridge, which undercuts the $107.84 single-cartridge price by $14.80 a unit, $73.98 across the pack, and works out to about 0.66 cents per rated page.
Is this a genuine Dell product?
No. The 330-8985 is Dell's part number for the cartridge; this is a compatible version manufactured by a third party to the same specification. The part number matters because it is how the cartridge is identified on purchase orders and storeroom shelves — the number matches, the brand on the box does not, and the price reflects that.
How long will five cartridges last a busy machine?
At 14,000 pages each, the pack covers 70,000 rated pages. A department machine at 4,000 pages a month uses one cartridge roughly every three and a half months, so five stretch to around seventeen months; at 8,000 a month, about nine. Dense, heavy-coverage printing shortens every one of those estimates.
Does the warranty differ from the standard pack's?
No — and that sameness is part of the point. Every cartridge is covered by a 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns, exactly as with the standard listing, and support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. Terms are on our shipping & returns page.
So which 5-pack should we order, this one or the standard one?
Either. Since the price, rating, quantity and cover are identical, there is no wrong choice between them — pick whichever listing you find, and reorder by the part number 330-8985 so the next pack matches this one.
