Frequently Asked Questions

Two names are attached to this cartridge — CE323A and 128A. Which one is the magenta?

CE323A. In this family the last digits assign the color, and CE323A is the magenta unit; 128A is simply the family name all four cartridges share. The price is $32.87 for the single cartridge, rated at 1,300 pages.

What does magenta actually do in a photograph?

It carries the reds and the warmth in skin. Portraits, food shots and product reds all lean on magenta — when it fades, faces go pale and reds collapse toward orange.

What is the tell-tale print symptom of low magenta?

Blues drifting purple is the famous one: blue is built with magenta in the mix, so a missing magenta half leaves prints oddly violet, while reds lose their depth at the same time.

Can I check the level without printing a test page?

On networked models the software shows the magenta gauge directly; on any model in the family, the supplies status page prints all four bars, magenta included.

Do I replace magenta on its own schedule?

Yes. It is an independent cartridge with its own gauge. Swap the CE323A when its bar runs down and leave the others in place.

What cover does the purchase include?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns from Clever Supplies — a faulty cartridge within the first year goes back free.

About This CE323A Magenta Cartridge — Reading the 128A Family by Its Numbers

The 128A family rewards shoppers who order by code: four numbers, four colors, and CE323A is the magenta. This is that cartridge — $32.87, 1,300 rated pages — for the compact Color LaserJet Pro generation that includes machines like the Color LaserJet CM1415fnw. It is the cartridge that keeps reds red and faces human.

Orders ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA; the shipping & returns page carries delivery and returns details. Support runs Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST, and the family's other members are shelved under the store's HP heading.

I've had experiences with other after-market cartridges where the print was noticeably lighter from day one but that is not the case here. The print is so nice and dark with no defects.

I just got this product and very happy about it so far. The print quality is as good as the original cartridge and the price is so much more affordable. Now we will see if it will last for 2000 pages.
