Frequently Asked Questions

Why would I buy two cartridges at once for a small printer?

Two patterns explain most 2-pack orders. Some homes run two printers from this family and feed both with one order. Others run one printer and treat the second cartridge as insurance — a boxed spare turns a mid-job stoppage into a thirty-second swap.

Are both cartridges the same CF217A part?

Yes — two identical compatible black cartridges, each built to the CF217A (17A) specification and rated at 1,600 pages. There is no mix to sort out: whichever you pick up first is right for any M102 or M130 series printer you own.

Does an unopened cartridge age on my shelf?

Sealed toner cartridges keep well for a long time indoors. Store the second box flat, away from windows and heat, and use the older box first. Avoid stacking heavy items on top — the shell and seals prefer an easy life.

What will I notice when the first cartridge is genuinely finished?

Output fades unevenly, often lighter down one side, and the printer reports low or empty toner. A gentle rock can coax out a few more pages, but streaky text that survives a test page means the cartridge is done — the moment the second box earns its place.

What if one of the two cartridges turns out to be faulty?

Both carry a 1-year warranty, and our 1-year free returns policy applies to the pack as a whole. We ship from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, and support answers Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

Is this the right pack for a printer that also scans and faxes?

If that machine is an M130 series model, yes — copying, scanning to file and faxing all draw on the same single black cartridge as printing. A 2-pack covers the printer's whole workload, not just pages sent from a computer.

About This CF217A Black Toner 2-Pack

Priced at $38.81, this 2-pack pairs two compatible CF217A black cartridges for the compact HP LaserJet Pro family — machines like the LaserJet M102a and the rest of the M102 and M130 lines. It is sized for real life: two printers under one roof, or one printer plus a spare already in the building.

Each cartridge installs the same tool-free way and is rated at 1,600 pages. Run the first until the fading starts, swap in the second, reorder when the shelf is empty — a rhythm that removes toner from the list of things that can interrupt a workday.

Compatibility runs to the LaserJet Pro M102w as well: it takes this exact cartridge, which is handy in a home running one of each. Two related supplies are worth knowing: the CF217AJ Jumbo cartridge stretches the same fitment further between changes, and the CF219A imaging drum is the imaging drum that works alongside this toner and is replaced on its own schedule.
