Frequently Asked Questions

Does copying and scanning on the WorkCentre 6505 use this cyan cartridge?

Scanning uses no toner at all — it is a light-and-sensor job. Copying does: a copy is a print, so every color copy draws on the 106R01594 alongside the other supplies. That is why an office that "mostly scans" can still find its cyan level falling — the copies and prints are doing it, quietly, in the background.

The title reads "Toner Cartridges" — is one cartridge or several included?

One. This listing supplies a single compatible 106R01594 cyan cartridge for $31.95, rated at up to 2,500 pages. The plural in the title is catalog phrasing, not a bundle count, and a single unit is what the 6505 asks for when it reports cyan low.

Why do color copies come out with a pink or yellow tint first?

Because cyan is the balancing color in photographs and skin tones. As it fades, reds take over the mix, so faces look flushed and skies turn odd before black text shows any problem. If scans look correct on screen but copies drift warm, the cyan cartridge is the first suspect — the scanner is fine.

Which printers does this cartridge cover besides the 6505?

The same supply runs in the Phaser side of the family — the Phaser 6500 and the Phaser 6500N, plus the 6500DN — because the WorkCentre 6505 and the Phaser 6500 were built on the same print engine and share the 106R01594 cyan cartridge.

What does the 2,500-page rating mean in a copy-heavy office?

At roughly 1.28 cents per page, the math is gentle, but copies of full-color originals consume toner far faster than the 5% coverage the rating assumes. A reception desk copying color forms all day will see the cartridge's life in weeks; an office printing letters will stretch it across seasons. Either way, the level report on the 6505's panel tells the true story.

What warranty and return terms apply?

The cartridge is backed by a 1-year warranty, and returns stay free for a full year — see our shipping and returns page for the details. Orders ship from Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California, with support available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
