Frequently Asked Questions

Everyone in our printed photos looks sunburned and the reds have gone orange — what is failing?

The magenta, most likely. Faces are the hardest test a color cartridge faces: healthy skin is built largely from magenta, and as the supply thins, complexions turn yellow and waxy while red lettering drifts to orange and purple headings lose their warmth. Black text staying crisp on the same sheet rules out the machine — it is the 106R02603 reaching the end of its rated life.

The name says "Toner Cartridges" — am I getting more than one?

You are getting one. The plural in the listing title is catalog wording, not a count: this is a single 106R02603 magenta cartridge, and a single cartridge is what the box holds. Anyone who wants a spare on the shelf alongside it needs to order that second unit as its own line.

What does the magenta cartridge actually contribute to a page?

It is the warm half of everything the printer makes. Magenta plus yellow gives you every red and orange; magenta plus cyan gives blues and purples; skin, sunsets and food photography all lean on it heavily. A page can look almost normal in black and cyan and still be quietly wrong everywhere the warmth should be.

How should I read the 4,500-page rating?

It is measured at the industry-standard 5% page coverage, and at $71.01 the cartridge lands at roughly 1.58 cents per page. A small office printing a modest stack of color each week can run one unit for many months; the same cartridge under photo-heavy, full-coverage work will finish proportionally sooner. The rating is a yardstick, not a promise tied to your mix of pages.

The printer warns that magenta is low, but output still looks right. Swap now or wait?

Wait — the warning is an estimate, and the print in front of you is the truth. Keep working until the warm colors genuinely start to shift, but do not let the cartridge die mid-job with nothing behind it: this listing is a single, so having the next 106R02603 in the drawer before the old one fades is the difference between a pause and a stop.

And if the cartridge disappoints when it lands?

A 1-year warranty stands behind it, with free returns for a full year if it is not right for your printer — details are spelled out on our shipping and returns page. Stock ships from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, and support is staffed Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
