Our 7100 spends most of its life printing A3 posters and brochures. Why does a complete three-colour set suit that work?
Because big pages are thirsty pages. An A3 sheet carries roughly twice the printed area of an A4 one, and poster work covers far more of that area than an office letter ever does, so on this machine the three colour bays tend to empty within a short window of each other rather than months apart. When they are replaced as a matched trio, the colour balance the run started with is the colour balance it ends with — no poster batch where the last twenty sheets drift warmer than the first twenty. For a machine whose output goes straight into a window display or a client's hands, that evenness across the run is the practical argument for the set.
Which cartridges are in the box, and what is each one rated at?
One of each colour the platform runs on: cyan 106R02602, magenta 106R02603 and yellow 106R02604, and each of the three is rated at 4,500 pages. How does the price work out per cartridge and per page?

Two honest caveats ride on that figure: published yields assume the standard 5% page coverage, and an A3 sheet counts about double an A4 one against the rating before coverage is even considered. A month of full-bleed A3 posters will land well under the headline numbers; lighter leaflet and handout work gets closer to them.
Magenta has run dry but cyan and yellow still show toner left. Do all three have to go in together?
No — the set is a buying unit, not a fitting rule. Each bay on the 7100 is swapped independently, and the printer only asks for the colour that is actually empty. Fit the magenta today and leave the cyan and yellow sealed on the shelf until their turn arrives; a cartridge kept in its packaging loses nothing by waiting, and you spread the changeovers across the weeks the machine actually asks for them.
