How long does one 2,400-page cartridge last in a real office?

It depends entirely on how colour-heavy the workload is. A team printing around 300 colour pages a month can see a single bay's cartridge last the better part of a year; a team pushing 1,000 colour pages a month should think in terms of a couple of months per cartridge. The 2,400 figure is measured at 5% page coverage, and dense graphics, full-page backgrounds and photo prints spend toner several times faster than that test page does. A practical rhythm with this set: when you fit the last spare for a given colour, that is the day to reorder — not the day the printer stops.

How should six spare cartridges be stored and rotated?

Keep them sealed, in their boxes, somewhere cool, dry and out of direct sunlight — a supply cupboard, not the top of the printer where the machine's warmth reaches them. When the box arrives, stand the cartridges so you take from the front, and fit older stock before newer stock: a simple first-in, first-out habit.
