Frequently Asked Questions

The title says "Cartridges" — how many are actually in the box?

One. The plural wording is the series naming carried across this range; what arrives is a single 106R01217 black cartridge, the same unit and the same $123.45 price as the code-named listing. If the box count matters to your order, read this listing as exactly one cartridge rated at 9,000 pages.

When is buying a single the right call instead of a multi-pack?

When the printer's future is short or uncertain — a machine nearing replacement, a lease ending, a team about to move. A single 106R01217 keeps a working printer fed without committing stock to a model you may not run next quarter. Steady high-volume sites are the ones the packs suit better.

Pages are coming out pale and streaky. Is that this cartridge finishing?

That is the classic signature of a black cartridge at the end of its toner. On the Phaser 6360, fading that spreads unevenly across the page — rather than a crisp error message — is the output itself telling you the 106R01217 is done. A fresh cartridge restoring solid black confirms it.

What does the 9,000-page rating actually assume?

It is measured at standard page coverage, the industry convention for rating toner. Plain office text sits near that coverage; pages loaded with bold blocks, shaded tables or full-page graphics use considerably more toner, so a graphics-heavy workload will see fewer real pages from the same cartridge.

The panel says toner is low but the print still looks fine. Swap it now?

Not on the warning alone. Low is an estimate with useful printing still behind it, and pulling the cartridge early throws away toner you have paid for. Let the pages decide: when black turns gray or uneven, that is the change point.

What cover and shipping terms apply to this cartridge?

Every cartridge carries a one-year warranty and free returns for a full year; the details are on our shipping and returns page. Stock ships from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, the support desk is staffed Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST, and the full catalogue sits on the Xerox toner page.
