Frequently Asked Questions

What arrives in this 2 pack?

Two compatible 106R01395 black cartridges, each one the high yield unit for the Phaser 6280 family, at $184.71 for the pair. One goes into the printer; the second waits on the shelf, so the next low-toner warning is a two-minute swap instead of a new order and a wait for delivery.

How far do the two cartridges go together?

Each cartridge is rated at up to 8,000 pages at roughly 5% coverage, so the pair carries up to 16,000 pages of black output between them. They are used one at a time — the second cartridge only starts its life when the first is spent.

What is the cost per cartridge inside the pack?

The pair works out to $92.36 a cartridge, which puts the toner cost at about 1.15 cents per page across the pack's rated life. Buying the spare at the same time as the working cartridge is what brings that per-cartridge figure down.

How should the spare cartridge be kept?

In its sealed packaging, flat, in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Kept that way, a toner cartridge holds its fill and its print quality until the day it is opened, so there is no penalty for buying the second one early.

Which printers run this cartridge?

The Phaser 6280 and Phaser 6280DN, and the 6280N configuration besides — every black slot in this family takes the 106R01395, whatever suffix the machine carries.

What are the terms behind the pack?

Both cartridges carry a one-year warranty with free returns for a year, as detailed on the shipping and returns page. We dispatch from IL, PA, GA and CA, support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST, and the rest of the family's supplies are gathered on the Xerox toner page.
