Frequently Asked Questions
The printer only has four toner slots — why does this box hold five cartridges?
Because the fifth is a shelf spare. Four cartridges go toward a complete working group for the machine, and the extra one waits in its packaging for whichever position runs dry first. In a small office where the printer sits idle while a replacement is shipped, that spare converts a two-day wait into a two-minute swap.
Which part numbers does the five-pack draw from?
The same four codes the printer itself uses: 106R01455 for black, 106R01452 for cyan, 106R01453 for magenta and 106R01454 for yellow. The spare is drawn from those same numbers, so every cartridge in the box fits a real slot in the machine — there is no odd cartridge in the bundle that belongs to a different printer.
Which color is the spare most likely to be needed for?
It depends entirely on what the office prints. Black does the heavy lifting on documents and is rated at up to 3,100 pages against up to 2,500 for each color, yet a single color-heavy report run can pull one color down faster than black. That unpredictability is the point of holding the spare uncommitted: it covers whichever position surprises you first.
How should the spare cartridge be stored until it is needed?
Flat, in its sealed packaging, in a cool cupboard away from radiators and sunlit windows. Toner is a dry powder sealed inside the cartridge, so a spare stored this way loses nothing sitting on the shelf for months. Writing the purchase date on the box helps you rotate it ahead of any newer stock.
Does the extra cartridge change the ratings of the working four?
No. Each cartridge performs to the same figures regardless of the box it arrived in: up to 3,100 pages for the black 106R01455 and up to 2,500 pages for the cyan, magenta and yellow cartridges at 5% coverage. The fifth cartridge adds readiness, not capacity — it changes how quickly you recover from an empty slot, not how long a cartridge lasts.
What cover and delivery terms apply to this set?
The set includes a 1-year warranty together with 1-year free returns, with the details published on our shipping and returns page. We ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, picking the location nearest your address, and support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST for part-number checks or order questions.
About This 6128 5 Color Set
At $103.02, this five-cartridge set covers the Phaser 6128MFP group — 106R01455 black (up to 3,100 pages), 106R01452 cyan, 106R01453 magenta and 106R01454 yellow (up to 2,500 pages each) — and adds one spare from the same numbers so the next empty slot never stops the office. It fits buyers who cannot afford printer downtime between a low warning and a courier. The wider range for this platform is on our Xerox toner page.
