Frequently Asked Questions
My colour prints have gone dull and muddy, but no cartridge is showing empty. What is happening?
Colour cartridges rarely die all at once — they fade. As one colour runs low, every mixture that depends on it drifts: skies lose their blue, grass turns yellowish, skin tones go flat. The printer only flags a bay when it is fully spent, so a washed-out page is usually the first honest signal that one of the three colours is nearly done. A three-colour refresh answers that without guesswork: you restore the full palette in one visit to the machine instead of playing detective across three separate orders.
Which cartridges are in this set, colour by colour?
Three cartridges, one for each colour bay of the printer. Cyan is the 106R01452, magenta is the 106R01453 and yellow is the 106R01454. Read the code off the cartridge you pull out and match it against those three numbers before you open a seal — that ten-second check is what guarantees the new unit belongs in the bay you are holding it over. Black is not part of this set: the black cartridge for this platform is the 106R01455, sold on its own listing.
How much printing does the set give me, and what does a cartridge work out at?
Each cartridge is rated at 2,500 pages on the standard test cycle — about 5% coverage of the page — so the trio carries 7,500 rated colour pages in total. At the set price of $63.47, each cartridge comes to roughly $21.16, which is about 0.85 cents per rated page. Real life pulls that figure around: dense graphics, photos and solid fills use colour far faster than the test page, while ordinary letters and reports with a logo and a chart or two land close to the rating.
This is a multifunction machine — do copies and scans draw on these cartridges too?
Scans cost you nothing in toner, but colour copies absolutely do: a colour copy is a print, laid down by the same three cartridges. Owners of the Phaser 6128MFP often find their colour usage is half copies rather than prints from a computer, which is why a colour can run down faster than the print queue alone would suggest. Received faxes, by contrast, print in black only and never touch this set.
Do I have to fit all three cartridges on the same day?
No. Fit the colour the machine is asking for and leave the other two sealed in the box — an unopened cartridge keeps its full rating on the shelf. Plenty of owners do exactly that: the set lives in the cupboard as a standing spare for whichever bay empties next. If your prints have faded evenly across all colours, though, a same-day swap of all three brings the palette back in balance in one go, and the old units come out together for recycling.
What cover comes with the set, and how do I reach you?
Every cartridge in the set is backed by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns — if a unit fails early, it goes back for a replacement or a refund rather than becoming your problem. Orders leave from whichever of our warehouses in IL, PA, GA or CA is closest to you, and a real person answers support questions Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. Delivery charges, timescales and how to start a return are set out on our shipping & returns page.
About This 3 Colour Set
This is the complete colour refill for the Phaser 6128 family in a single $63.47 box: one cyan 106R01452, one magenta 106R01453 and one yellow 106R01454, each rated at 2,500 pages. It suits the owner who treats dull, drifting colour as a problem to end today rather than diagnose over three deliveries — swap the tired bay, or refresh all three and reset the palette. Sealed spares wait their turn without losing rating, and each cartridge carries a 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns. The matching black cartridge and the wider Xerox range are listed on the site.
