Frequently Asked Questions

How long will 14,000 pages actually last in our office?

It comes down to your monthly black volume. A team printing around 1,500 black pages a month gets roughly nine months from one cartridge; at 3,000 pages a month, plan on four to five months. The MP C501SP is usually a shared departmental machine, so count everyone's output, not just one person's, when you estimate.

What does each black page cost with this cartridge?

At $61.19 for a rated 14,000 pages, black printing works out to about 0.44 cents per page in toner cost. Pages with heavy coverage — dense reports, big graphics, solid fills — will use more toner than the 5% coverage the rating is based on, so real-world cost per page lands a little higher for graphics-heavy work.

Which printer does this cartridge fit?

This black cartridge is made for Ricoh MP C501SP. If your machine shows a different cartridge number on the supply screen, compare it before ordering — the C501SP uses its own cartridge family and does not share toner with the larger MP C-series floor models.

How do I tell a truly empty cartridge from an early low warning?

The C501SP warns early on purpose, and clean output usually continues well past the first message. When prints start fading evenly from top to bottom, or the machine stops black jobs entirely, the cartridge is genuinely spent. Rocking it gently side to side can buy a short run of extra pages, but order the replacement the same day.

What happens if this cartridge fails early?

It is covered by a one-year warranty, and you can return it free any time within the first year. If it leaks, streaks, or runs out far sooner than your volume explains, reach out and we will replace it or refund you. The full policy is on our shipping and returns page.

How quickly will a replacement reach us?

We stock this cartridge in warehouses in IL, PA, GA, and CA, so most orders land within a few business days. If you are unsure whether this is the right cartridge for your machine, our team is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
