Frequently Asked Questions

The MP 4055 only holds one black cartridge — why buy two at once?

Because when this machine stops, a whole department usually stops with it. The second cartridge sits sealed on the shelf as an instant spare: the day the installed cartridge runs dry mid-job, the swap takes two minutes instead of two days of waiting on a shipment. Between the two cartridges you get 74,000 rated pages of runway, which for most offices means toner is simply off your mind for a year or more. And buying them together costs $111.26 instead of $129.74 for two singles — $18.48 stays in your pocket.

How does the math on this 2-pack compare with buying singles?

Two single cartridges at $64.87 each would total $129.74. This pair is $111.26, which drops your per-cartridge cost to $55.63 and saves $18.48 on the same 74,000 pages of capacity. You are not paying for packaging you do not need; you are paying for a spare that is already in the building. Offices that track cost per page will see the pair pull the figure down from the single-cartridge rate while removing the reorder errand entirely.

Will this pair fit my machine?

Yes, if your machine is Ricoh MP 4055. Both cartridges in this pack are the same black toner unit the MP 4055 takes — one goes in the machine, the other is its shelf spare. If you run a different MP model alongside the 4055, keep the packs labeled by machine, since cartridges across the MP family are model-specific even when the boxes look alike.

Does a sealed spare cartridge go bad sitting on the shelf?

Not on any timescale that matters here. Toner is a dry powder; sealed in its bag and box, stored away from heat and direct sun, a cartridge keeps for well over a year without degrading. What ages a spare is a hot warehouse corner or a torn seal, not the calendar. Store the box flat in a normal office cabinet and use the older stock first when you restock.

What if one cartridge of the two turns out to be faulty?

Each cartridge is covered individually by our one-year warranty and one-year free returns — a fault in one never drags the other into the claim. Tell us which unit is misbehaving and what the prints look like, and we handle that cartridge on its own under the policy spelled out on our shipping and returns page. You keep printing with the good cartridge while the replacement is sorted out.

Where does my order ship from?

From whichever of our four warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — is closest to you with stock on hand. Splitting inventory across the country means the 2-pack usually travels a short distance. Questions before or after ordering? Our team answers Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
