Also fits: This cartridge also fits the Ricoh IM C3000 and IM C3500 — the same machines also sold under the Savin and Lanier brands with the same model names. Ricoh's rated yields for this platform are 31,000 pages for black and 19,000 pages for each color.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does replacing all four cartridges at once actually make sense?

When all four levels are already low, when you have just taken over a machine with unknown toner history, or when you want one planned maintenance window instead of four separate interruptions. A full set resets the whole color system to a known starting point. If only one cartridge is low, though, buying the set early just ties up budget in toner you will not touch for months.

How much does the set save over buying the four cartridges separately?

The four singles — one black at $86.37 and three colors at $108.64 each — total $412.29 bought individually. This set is $356.82, so you save $55.47, and every cartridge in the box is the same unit you would buy on its own. The saving comes from the bundle, not from lesser cartridges.

Do we have to install all four cartridges on the same day?

No, and usually you should not. Swap each cartridge as the one in the machine actually runs out, and keep the rest sealed in the box — sealed toner stores well in a cool, dry place. Installing a fresh cartridge early throws away whatever life was left in the old one, which quietly eats the saving the set gave you.

Does this set fit every machine on the platform, or only the IMC3000?

The whole platform. The listing is titled for one model, but these cartridges — the 842251 black and its three color partners — serve the entire Ricoh IM C3000 and IM C3500 family, and any machine on that platform takes this same set. Buy it for whichever of those machines you run; the box does not change.

Will the four cartridges in the set run out at the same time?

Almost certainly not. The black cartridge is rated at 31,000 pages while each color is rated at 19,000, and real consumption depends on what you print — a text-heavy office drains black first, a graphics-heavy one drains colors first. Expect to reorder individual colors (or black) on their own rhythm after this set, and that is exactly how the platform is meant to be maintained.

If one cartridge in the set is defective, do we have to return all four?

No. Each cartridge is covered by our one-year warranty, and returns are free for a year under the policy on our shipping and returns page — a single faulty unit goes back on its own while the other three stay in service. Support is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if you need a hand.
