Frequently Asked Questions
Who actually needs three black cartridges in a single order?
Offices running more than one machine on this platform, and single-machine departments whose black volume is high enough that reordering every few months becomes a chore. Three cartridges is 45,000 rated pages — for many departments that is a full year of black printing handled with one purchase order. If your CL4000DN mostly idles, a single or a pair is the more sensible buy.
What does the per-cartridge price drop to in this 3-pack?
The set is $274.76, which is $91.59 per cartridge — against $103.91 for a single, that is $36.97 saved across the three. The per-page cost falls to roughly 0.61 cents at the rated yield. The discount grows with pack size in this family, so heavier users genuinely pay less per page, not just less often.
Does one cartridge type really cover all three slots in my stockroom?
There is only one slot it needs to cover: every cartridge here is the same 888308 black, the standard black for the whole CL4000DN platform family — Lanier LP226cn, Aficio CL4000DN, Aficio SP C410DN and Aficio SP C411DN. This listing names the CL4000DN, but any machine on that list takes this exact cartridge. Stocking one cartridge number for every machine on the platform is precisely the point of a multipack like this.
How should I rotate three cartridges so none sits too long?
Use them oldest-first: when a new order arrives, put it behind the stock you already have, and always pull from the front. When the last cartridge from this set goes into a machine, that is your reorder signal — not the day the machine stops. Toner keeps well sealed, but first-in, first-out keeps your stock fresh and your reorder timing predictable.
How long will 45,000 pages last a working department?
At 2,500 black pages a month — a realistic figure for a shared departmental machine that also makes copies — the set covers about a year and a half. At 5,000 pages a month it is closer to nine months, which is still only one reorder decision per school year or budget cycle. Lighter offices should do the honest math before choosing this size; the pair exists for a reason.
How do warranty and returns work on a multi-cartridge set?
Each cartridge in the set is covered by our one-year warranty, and returns are free for a year under the policy on our shipping & returns page. A problem with one cartridge does not mean sending back all three — tell support which unit failed (weekdays, 9 AM–5 PM CST) and keep the sealed ones on your shelf. That separation is one more reason multipack stocking works well for offices.
