Frequently Asked Questions
How long does one black cartridge actually last in a small office?
Each 406475 black cartridge is rated for about 6,500 pages at standard 5% coverage. In a small office printing a few hundred pages a week, that typically stretches across several months of letters, invoices, and reports before the printer asks for a fresh one.
What does a printed page cost with this cartridge?
Let's be straight: at $68.01 for 6,500 pages, black printing runs about 1.05 cents per page, which is on the higher side for a laser cartridge. This platform trades low page cost for compact size, so the value here is keeping a dependable older machine in service at a fair cartridge price — not bargain-basement running costs.
Is this the only printer model this cartridge works in?
My prints are coming out faint — is the cartridge empty?
Fading usually means the toner is running low and settling unevenly, though a cartridge near the end of its 6,500-page rating can still produce light pages for a while. Remove it and rock it gently side to side a few times; that redistributes the remaining toner and often buys you a few hundred more acceptable pages.
How should I store this cartridge before I install it?
Keep it sealed in its original packaging, lying flat in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat vents. Stored that way, a spare holds up well for a long shelf stay, and you will have it ready the moment the installed cartridge gives out.
What happens if the cartridge fails or doesn't work in my printer?
Every cartridge we sell is covered by a one-year warranty and one year of free returns. If it fails or turns out to be wrong for your machine, our support team is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and you can read the full terms on our shipping and returns page.
