Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a 3,500-page cartridge actually last a small workgroup?

At a realistic small-office pace — say 300 to 500 pages a month — one cartridge covers roughly seven months to a year of everyday printing. The 3,500-page rating assumes 5% page coverage, so dense documents will land you at the shorter end. For a desktop workgroup printer, that calendar life is the point: toner becomes a twice-a-year thought, not a monthly errand.

Let's be straight — what does each page cost?

At $106.02 over 3,500 rated pages, the figure is about 3.03 cents a page, which is not cheap per page, and no small cartridge is. What the price buys is a low single outlay and a supply correctly sized to a compact printer's workload. If your workgroup prints thousands of pages a month, a high-yield platform would serve you better — this cartridge serves the office that prints steadily but lightly.

Which printers does this cartridge actually fit?

More than the one in the listing title. The E260A21A is the standard cartridge across the family — E260, E260D, E260DN, E360, E360DN, E460, E460DN and E460DW — covering the E260 and E360 lines in their various configurations. The listing names the E260 because pages are organized by model; the cartridge itself is platform-wide.

How do I tell a genuinely empty cartridge from a printer problem?

An emptying cartridge fades evenly and progressively, and the low-toner indicator will have warned you first. Rocking the cartridge gently side to side levels the last of the toner and usually restores a few dozen acceptable pages. Streaks in one fixed band, or fading that rocking does not change, point at the printer rather than the supply.

Can I keep a spare without it going off?

Yes. Sealed toner cartridges store well for a long time in a cool, dry place at room temperature — the powder does not dry out, because it starts out dry. Keep the box away from heat sources and direct sunlight, and date it when it arrives so the oldest stock gets used first.

What protection does this purchase carry?

A full one-year warranty, and returns are free for the first year as well. If a cartridge arrives wrong or underperforms, our shipping and returns page walks you through the exchange, and support staff answer Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
