Frequently Asked Questions

• How many pages does the HP F6T80AN print?

HP rates the F6T80AN at about 3,500 pages under ISO/IEC 24711 test conditions, printing standard pages at around 5% coverage. Your own count will move with coverage, paper and settings — dense colour pages use far more ink than plain text.

• Which printers take the F6T80AN?

It fits PageWide 352dw, PageWide 377dw, PageWide Pro 452dn, PageWide Pro 452dw and 5 more. The complete verified list is in the Compatible Printers section on this page — check your model there before ordering.

• 972A, 972X or 976Y — what is the difference?

All three fit the same PageWide slots; the letter is the yield tier. 972A is the standard tier, 972X roughly triples it, and 976Y is the extra-high tier sold for the PageWide Pro 500 series and the Managed P55250dw/P57750dw. Each product page lists exactly the models its tier is rated for.

• Is the F6T80AN pigment or dye ink?

It is pigment ink — the same ink technology HP uses in the original F6T80AN — so text stays sharp and resists water and highlighter smear.

• What chip does this cartridge use?

Yes — a new compatible chip that reports ink levels to the printer, so the low-ink warnings keep working. It is not a refilled original shell with a reset chip.

• A warning appeared after fitting this cartridge — how do I clear it?

Acknowledge the on-screen message, reseat the cartridge until it clicks, and restart the printer. If the warning persists, wipe the gold chip contacts with a dry lint-free cloth and reinstall.

• Will it work next to genuine HP cartridges in the other slots?

Yes. Each slot is read independently, so a compatible black alongside original colours (or the other way round) prints normally.

• Is this made by HP?

No. It is a Clever Supplies compatible cartridge built to the F6T80AN specification and covered by our lifetime warranty. It is not manufactured by HP; the HP name appears only to identify the printers it fits.

• Can I mix tiers — a 976Y black with 972A colours?

Yes. Each slot reads its own cartridge, so tiers can be mixed freely across the four slots.

• What cover do I have if this cartridge fails?

Stop and contact us — do not keep printing on a faulty cartridge. The lifetime warranty covers recognition failures, leaks and print-quality defects: we replace the cartridge or refund you.

• Need the other colours too?

The full set and the other single colours are linked under the family list on this page, so you can match this cartridge with its matching set.

• How do I store this cartridge until I need it?

Keep it sealed in its bag, upright in the orientation it would sit in the printer, at room temperature. Take it out only when the printer asks for it.
