Frequently Asked Questions

• How many pages does the HP T6M18AN print?

HP rates the T6M18AN at about 1,500 pages under ISO/IEC 24711 test conditions, printing standard pages at around 5% coverage. Your own count will move with coverage, paper and settings — dense colour pages use far more ink than plain text.

• Which printers take the T6M18AN?

It fits OfficeJet Pro 6961, OfficeJet Pro 6968, OfficeJet Pro 6970, OfficeJet Pro 6971 and 2 more. The complete verified list is in the Compatible Printers section on this page — check your model there before ordering.

• 902 or 902XL — which fits my printer?

Both. Every printer in this family accepts the standard 902 and the high-yield 902XL in the same slots; the XL simply carries more ink.

• Standard or XL — which should I buy?

This is the high-yield version, rated at about 1,500 pages. It costs more up front than the standard cartridge and far less per printed page, so it is the right pick for regular printing; the standard size suits a printer that only runs occasionally.

• Is the T6M18AN pigment or dye ink?

It is pigment ink — the same ink technology HP uses in the original T6M18AN — so text stays sharp and resists water and highlighter smear.

• What chip does this cartridge use?

Yes — a new compatible chip that reports ink levels to the printer, so the low-ink warnings keep working. It is not a refilled original shell with a reset chip.

• A warning appeared after fitting this cartridge — how do I clear it?

Acknowledge the on-screen message, reseat the cartridge until it clicks, and restart the printer. If the warning persists, wipe the gold chip contacts with a dry lint-free cloth and reinstall. This family runs HP dynamic security: the printer checks the cartridge chip, and HP firmware updates can change what is accepted. Our cartridges carry a new compatible chip built for these models; if a future HP firmware update ever blocks a cartridge, the lifetime warranty covers you — contact us and we will put it right.

• Will it work next to genuine HP cartridges in the other slots?

Yes. Each slot is read independently, so a compatible black alongside original colours (or the other way round) prints normally.

• Is this made by HP?

No. It is a Clever Supplies compatible cartridge built to the T6M18AN specification and covered by our lifetime warranty. It is not manufactured by HP; the HP name appears only to identify the printers it fits.

• What cover do I have if this cartridge fails?

Stop and contact us — do not keep printing on a faulty cartridge. The lifetime warranty covers recognition failures, leaks and print-quality defects: we replace the cartridge or refund you.

• Need the other colours too?

The full set and the other single colours are linked under the family list on this page, so you can match this cartridge with its matching set.

• How do I store this cartridge until I need it?

Keep it sealed in its bag, upright in the orientation it would sit in the printer, at room temperature. Take it out only when the printer asks for it.
