Frequently Asked Questions

Is this pair the right black for the 4650dn?

Yes. Both cartridges are the C9720A, the black of the HP 641A family, which is the number the Color LaserJet 4650dn asks for. The two-pack is $111.71.

On a busy networked printer, when will I actually open the second cartridge?

Each C9720A is rated near 9,000 pages at standard coverage, so the spare typically waits through one full cartridge life of department printing. When the installed cartridge starts printing pale, the spare goes in the same day — nobody's print job waits on a delivery window.

Does duplex printing change how the pair gets used?

Only in arithmetic: duplex output still consumes toner per printed side. A 4650dn flipping pages all day works through a cartridge by sides printed, so heavy two-sided volume is exactly the setting where having the second cartridge in-house pays off.

Can two different people install these, weeks apart, without confusion?

Easily. The cartridges are identical and individually boxed. Whoever hits the faded output opens the front cover, pulls the spent unit by its handle, seats the fresh one, and the printer recalibrates itself. No settings, no pairing, nothing to configure on the network side.

The supply gauge still shows a sliver left. Swap or squeeze?

Squeeze while the output is clean — the gauge is an estimate. But on a shared dn model, swap at the first genuinely pale page rather than the last possible one; five people's deadlines ride on that machine, not one.

What support stands behind the pack?

Both cartridges carry a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns. We ship from IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses, and our team answers Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST. The rest of the HP line for this printer family sits under our brand page.

About This 4650dn Black Twin Pack

A networked duplex printer burns black on a schedule nobody controls. This $111.71 pair of C9720A cartridges keeps one in the machine and one within arm's reach, so toner stops being an interruption and becomes a non-event. Pack-level delivery terms, including how pairs are boxed for transit, are covered on our shipping and returns page.
