This is the black cartridge for Epson's first DURABrite generation: our compatible T060120 (label code T0601) carries DURABrite Ultra pigment black ink for the nine Stylus C and CX printers of 2005–2006 — the C68, C88 and C88+, and the CX3800, CX3810, CX4200, CX4800, CX5800F and CX7800 all-in-ones. Pigment black is the document ink of this platform: sharp text that dries fast and resists smudging on plain paper. One honest note belongs up front: Epson's original US documentation for this cartridge family is long retired, and no official Epson yield figure for T060120 could be verified from a manufacturer source — so we print no page count here rather than copy a reseller's number. What is verified, from Epson's own product information sheet and support FAQ, is the code, the pigment ink type and the nine-printer fit list.

The cartridge is a chipped cartridge, as every 60 cartridge is: ours carries a new compatible chip for ink-level reporting. This cartridge carries a new compatible chip. If your printer's firmware has been updated, recognition issues can occasionally occur with compatible cartridges of this generation — reseating the cartridge firmly resolves most cases, and the cartridge is covered either way. Black is sold as a single so you never buy colors you don't need just to get the printer running again.
The rest of the shelf: T060220 cyan, T060320 magenta and T060420 yellow singles, the Set of 4 (one of each color — the configuration Epson itself packed as T060120-BCS) and the Set of 10 bulk box. A boundary worth stating plainly: the 60 family fits only these nine older printers. It is not the 68 or 69 family — those cartridges belong to a later platform and fit none of these models. Covered by our lifetime warranty, with free returns for the first year.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which printers does the T060120 black fit?
Nine verified models: Stylus C68, C88 and C88+, and Stylus CX3800, CX3810, CX4200, CX4800, CX5800F and CX7800. The list comes from Epson America's own product information sheet for this cartridge family and Epson's C88 support FAQ — not from seller listings.
Why is there no page yield printed for this cartridge?
Because no official Epson yield figure for the 60 family could be verified from a manufacturer source — Epson's US product pages for these cartridges were retired years ago. Reseller listings quote numbers, but a reseller claim is not a manufacturer rating, so the yield field on this page is left blank rather than filled with someone else's figure.
Is the ink pigment or dye?
Pigment. The 60 family is DURABrite Ultra, Epson's pigment ink line, in all four colors including this black. Pigment black gives crisp, fast-drying, smudge-resistant text on plain paper.
Does this cartridge have a chip?
Yes. This cartridge carries a new compatible chip. If your printer's firmware has been updated, recognition issues can occasionally occur with compatible cartridges of this generation — reseating the cartridge resolves most cases, and if it doesn't, contact us: the cartridge is covered by our lifetime warranty and 1-year free returns. We don't claim guaranteed recognition; we stand behind the cartridge instead.
My C88 says the cartridge is not recognized. What should I do?
Power the printer off, remove the cartridge, check that the chip contacts are clean and dry and that you haven't touched the green chip itself, then reseat the cartridge until it clicks and power back on. If a firmware update came just before the message, that is the likely trigger — contact us and we will work through it under the lifetime warranty.
Is this the high-capacity version of the 60 black?
There isn't one. The 60 family exists in a single, standard capacity — Epson never made a high-capacity 60. Listings that pair "60/68" together are mixing two platforms: the 68 is the high-capacity tier of the later 69 platform and fits none of the nine printers this cartridge serves.
Will this fit my Stylus CX6000 or NX400?
No. Those are 69-platform printers. The 60 family and the 69 family share no printer at all — Epson's own FAQs list only 60 codes for the nine models on this page and only 69 codes for the later platform.
What do the codes T060120 and T0601 mean?
T060120 is the full Epson part number for the 60 black cartridge; T0601 is the short label code printed on the cartridge itself. Both refer to the same cartridge — Epson's C88 FAQ lists it as T0601, and Epson America's product information sheet gives the full T060120 form.
Is this a genuine Epson cartridge?
No — it is a Clever Supplies compatible cartridge built to the T060120 specification and labeled compatible on the box and on this page. It is not manufactured by Epson.
Can I mix this black with the color cartridges already in my printer?
Yes. Each of the four slots is independent; replace the black on its own whenever it runs out, whatever state the cyan, magenta and yellow are in.
How should I store a spare black cartridge?
Sealed, upright, at room temperature and out of direct sunlight, away from heat sources. Open it only when the printer asks for it — the chip and ink outlet are happiest unexposed.
What warranty and returns does it carry?
A lifetime warranty: a cartridge that fails to perform is replaced. Free returns apply within the first year.
