If your XP or WF printer mostly prints documents, this is the cartridge that runs out first — and the one worth buying in XL. Our compatible T200XL120-S holds DURABrite Ultra pigment black ink rated up to 500 pages (ISO/IEC 24711/24712), nearly triple the standard 200 black's 175 pages. The pigment formula is the DURABrite promise: text that resists smudging, water splashes and highlighter passes once dry.

The cartridge carries a new compatible chip that reports ink levels to the printer. Honest note: this cartridge carries a new compatible chip. If your printer's firmware has been updated, recognition issues can occasionally occur — if the printer ever questions the cartridge, reseat it firmly and restart the printer before assuming the cartridge is at fault. The sibling colours are T200XL220-S cyan, T200XL320-S magenta and T200XL420-S yellow, each rated up to 450 pages.
It fits all eight verified 200-family printers — XP-200, XP-300, XP-310, XP-400, XP-410, WF-2520, WF-2530 and WF-2540 — and no other family: the look-alike 220 (T220) and 288 (T288) cartridges are different cartridges for different printers. Covered by our lifetime warranty, with free returns for the first year.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many pages does the T200XL120 print?
Up to 500 pages at 5% coverage, Epson's published rating for the genuine cartridge on the ISO/IEC 24711/24712 pattern. Actual yield depends on what you print — text-heavy work tracks the rating most closely.
Is this the standard or the high-capacity black?
High capacity — the XL. The standard 200 black (T200120-S) is rated 175 pages. Clever Supplies sells the XL tier for this family because the LD ladder for compatibles is XL-only; see the checklist note on the standard tier.
What ink is inside?
DURABrite Ultra pigment ink — all four 200 colours are pigment, per Epson's XP-410 specification. Pigment black gives documents their smudge, fade and water resistance.
Which printers take it?
All eight verified models: XP-200, XP-300, XP-310, XP-400, XP-410, WF-2520, WF-2530 and WF-2540. It does not fit 220 or 288 family printers.
Does it have a chip?
Yes — a new compatible chip that reports ink levels. This cartridge carries a new compatible chip. If your printer's firmware has been updated, recognition issues can occasionally occur; reseating the cartridge and restarting usually clears a false warning.
My printer says the cartridge is not recognised. What now?
Power the printer off, remove the cartridge, check the chip contacts are clean and dry, reseat it until it clicks, and power back on. If a recent firmware update preceded the message, that is the likely trigger — contact us and we will work through it under the lifetime warranty.
Can I mix this XL black with standard-capacity colours?
Yes. Each slot is independent; XL and standard cartridges mix freely in the same printer. Our colours are XL (450 pages each), but a standard colour already in your printer works alongside this black.
How much ink is in it, in millilitres?
We don't publish a figure: Epson's US documentation does not state a millilitre volume for this family, so the Volume field is left blank rather than filled with a reseller's claim. The comparable, verifiable figure is the 500-page ISO yield.
Is it a genuine Epson cartridge?
No — it is a Clever Supplies compatible built to the T200XL120-S specification and labelled compatible on the box and this page. It is not manufactured by Epson.
What does the lifetime warranty cover?
A cartridge that fails to perform — not recognised after troubleshooting, leaking, or printing poorly from new — is replaced under the lifetime warranty. Free returns apply within the first year.
Why is black rated 500 but the colours 450?
That is Epson's own rating split for the XL tier (black 500, colours 450 each). The standard tier shows the same shape at a smaller scale: black 175, colours 165 each.
Should I buy the single or a set?
The single if only black is low. If colours are close behind, the Set of 4 (all XL) or the Set of 9 bulk pack works out cheaper per cartridge — both are linked from this page.
