The Standard tier's black: the T125120-S, rated up to 230 pages (ISO/IEC 24711) in DURABrite Ultra pigment ink, with a new compatible chip, for the eleven printers Epson assigns to the 125 family — Stylus NX125, NX127, NX130, NX230, NX420, NX530, NX625 and WorkForce 320, 323, 325, 520. If your printer is on that list and black is what you burn through, this is its everyday cartridge.

Against the Moderate tier it gains about 40 pages per cartridge (230 vs. 190) — a modest step on paper that compounds across a year of invoices and homework. Its color partners carry the bigger jump: cyan (T125220-S), magenta (T125320-S) and yellow (T125420-S) at about 305 pages each, all listed below alongside the 4-cartridge set and the 9-cartridge bulk box.
Two fit notes that save returns. First, the WorkForce 520 on this list holds two of these blacks at once — order accordingly. Second, three popular models are not on this list: the NX330, NX430 and WorkForce 435 take no 125 cartridge (their tiers are 124 + 126). Covered by our lifetime warranty, with free returns for the first year.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which printers does this 125 black fit?
Eleven, per Epson's own lists: Stylus NX125, NX127, NX130, NX230, NX420, NX530, NX625 and WorkForce 320, 323, 325, 520.
How many pages — and how does that compare with the 124 black?
Up to 230 pages (ISO/IEC 24711) for this Standard black, against the Moderate 124 black's 190. Both are DURABrite Ultra pigment; the difference is the fill.
My WorkForce 520 asks for black twice. Is that a fault?
No — the 520 is built with two black cartridge slots (Epson's guide marks the black line "Black (2)"). It runs two T125120 cartridges at once. Each cartridge is still rated 230 pages on its own; the printer simply draws from a doubled reservoir.
Will it fit my Stylus NX430?
No. The NX430's tiers are 124 Moderate and 126 High — 125 is not among them, whatever a marketplace listing says. The NX330 and WorkForce 435 are the same. Use their model pages; they sell only what Epson lists.
Chip and firmware — what should I expect?
This cartridge carries a new compatible chip. If your printer's firmware has been updated, recognition issues can occasionally occur with compatible chips: reseat firmly, restart, and if the error remains, contact us — the lifetime warranty covers a cartridge that won't perform. We don't promise recognition in every firmware state, because nobody honestly can.
Is the ink pigment?
Yes — DURABrite Ultra pigment in all four colors of this platform: instant-dry, resistant to water and highlighter smearing, made for documents.
Can I pair it with 124 color cartridges?
On the eight core models that take both tiers (Stylus NX125–NX420, WorkForce 320/323/325), yes. On the NX530, NX625 and WorkForce 520, only 125 (and their higher tiers) belong in the printer.
Why does the level gauge drop unevenly?
Epson's manuals note ink levels may not display accurately with non-genuine cartridges. Also, all colors are used in maintenance cycles, so levels move even on black-only jobs — that part is normal printer behavior.
Black text looks light even with a fresh cartridge. Faulty?
Check the nozzle pattern first (the printhead is in the printer, not the cartridge) and confirm the paper-type setting matches your paper. A cleaning cycle fixes most light-text cases without touching the cartridge.
Shelf life and storage?
Spares: sealed, upright, room temperature. Opened: Epson's guidance for this platform is to use a cartridge within about six months.
Is this genuine Epson?
No. A Clever Supplies compatible built to the T125120-S specification, labeled compatible on the box and this page; not manufactured by Epson.
Warranty and returns?
Lifetime warranty — a cartridge that fails to perform is replaced — and free returns within the first year.
