Frequently Asked Questions

How should we rotate stock with a 3-pack of 310-5726 cartridges?

First in, first out. When the 3-pack arrives, date the boxes with a marker and stack them oldest at the front. Each time the Color Laser 3000cn needs a black change, take the front box — that way no 310-5726 sits forgotten at the back for years, and the cartridge in the printer is always the one that has waited longest. With three on hand, a simple reorder point works well: when you open the last box, that is the moment to order the next pack.

What does the 3-pack cost per cartridge and per page?

The pack is $92.41, which divides to $30.80 per cartridge — well below the $43.14 single price — and saves roughly $37 against buying three singles one at a time. With 4,000 rated pages per cartridge, the pack holds 12,000 pages of black printing and brings the running cost to about 0.77 cents per page on the Dell 3000cn.

What kind of printing volume does a 3-pack suit?

Roughly, an office printing 600 to 1,000 black pages a month. At that pace, 12,000 pages is a year to eighteen months of supply: long enough to make the per-cartridge discount meaningful, short enough that the stock genuinely turns over. Much lighter users are better served by a single or a 2-pack; much heavier users should look at the 5-pack's lower per-page cost.

How long can the cartridges in this pack wait before being used?

Stored sealed, flat and dry, away from heat sources and sunlight, compatible toner cartridges keep well for extended periods — toner powder does not evaporate or clog the way liquid ink does. The practical limits are storage conditions, not a short expiry clock. A cupboard shelf in the office is ideal; a hot stockroom or a damp basement is not. Rotating first-in-first-out, as above, keeps even the last cartridge of the three in good shape.

If one cartridge out of the three is faulty, what happens?

Each 310-5726 in the pack carries the same one-year warranty and free one-year returns, whether it is the first you open or the third. A cartridge that leaks, streaks or fades early goes back on its own — you do not return the whole pack or lose the price advantage on the good units. The process is described on our shipping and returns page, and our support team is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM Central.

Where will this 3-pack ship from?

From whichever of our warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California is closest to you. Keeping regional stock is deliberate: a three-cartridge pack is not light, and shorter routes mean faster, safer delivery. If you manage several printers, the wider range for this family is listed in our Dell toner section.
