Frequently Asked Questions

Why buy two 310-5726 cartridges at once for a Dell 3000cn?

The working-plus-spare logic: one cartridge in the printer, one sealed on the shelf. The 310-5726 black cartridge does nearly all the printing on a Color Laser 3000cn, so when it runs dry mid-job you do not want to be waiting on a delivery. With a 2-pack, the swap takes two minutes and printing continues the same day — the reorder can happen calmly afterward instead of as an emergency.

How does the 2-pack pricing break down per cartridge?

The pair is $67.77, which is $33.89 per cartridge against $43.14 for a single. Buying the two together saves $18.51 compared with two separate single orders — the discount comes from committing to the second cartridge now rather than paying full single-unit price again later. For any office that knows it will use a second cartridge within the year, the arithmetic is straightforward.

How many pages does this 2-pack cover in total?

Each 310-5726 is rated at 4,000 pages, so the pair covers 8,000 rated pages. That brings the cost down to about 0.85 cents per page, compared with roughly 1.08 cents buying singles. In time terms: at 500 black pages a month, this pack carries a 3000cn for well over a year of document printing before you need to think about toner again.

Will the second cartridge go stale sitting on the shelf?

Not under normal storage. Keep the spare sealed in its packaging, flat, in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight, and it will be fine for the months a 2-pack typically spans. Toner is a dry powder — it does not dry out like ink — so the main enemies are heat and humidity, not time. Avoid storing it next to a radiator or in a damp storeroom and there is nothing to worry about.

Are both cartridges in the pack covered if one turns out faulty?

Yes — the one-year warranty and free one-year returns apply to each cartridge in the pack individually, including the one you open months later. If the spare misbehaves when its turn comes, it goes back on the same terms as the first. The details are set out on our shipping and returns page, and support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM Central.

How fast will the 2-pack reach us?

Orders ship from the closest of our four warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — so delivery times are short for most of the country. If you are ordering because the 3000cn is already warning about low toner, the shelf spare from this pack means the next change is instant regardless. You can see the rest of the range for this printer in our Dell toner section.
