Frequently Asked Questions

Our logo red has to match on every handout — why does the consistency slip?

Because a shared printer's magenta fades gradually, and everyone's handouts fade with it. The Canon 069 magenta cartridge (5092C001) does not fail in one step; it weakens over its last stretch of pages, so the red on Monday's handout is a touch more orange than the red on last month's, and nobody notices until two versions sit side by side. On an MF753CDW serving a whole team, that slow drift in magenta is the usual reason brand colour "mysteriously" stops matching.

How long should this cartridge hold a workgroup?

It is rated at up to 1,900 pages for $52.83 — roughly 2.78¢ per page. A workgroup printing a few hundred colour pages a month between them gets several months from one cartridge. Count the copier's share too: colour copies on the MF753CDW draw from this same cartridge. Teams that change magenta very frequently can move up to the high-yield 069H magenta (5096C001) in the same slot; the standard Canon 069 suits the common pattern of steady, mixed use.

Everyone prints to this machine — does one weak cartridge affect all of us?

Yes, and that cuts both ways. A fading magenta shows up in the whole department's output, not just one person's — which is why the fix is also shared: one fresh cartridge restores the reds for every desk at once. It also means it is worth acting on the first credible report. When a colleague says the reds look off, they are probably right, even if your own text pages looked fine.

Which cartridge are we replacing, exactly?

The magenta of the Canon 069 family — part number 5092C001, confirmed on the label of the cartridge that comes out. The MF753CDW's set is black (5094C001), cyan (5093C001), magenta (5092C001) and yellow (5091C001), and each is replaced independently as it finishes. This listing is magenta only.

Is it worth swapping magenta before a big print run rather than mid-run?

If the cartridge is in its late stage and the run matters — conference handouts, a client pack, anything with the logo large — yes. A mid-run change is easy, but pages printed either side of it can differ just enough to notice in a stack. Two minutes spent swapping the 5092C001 beforehand keeps the whole run consistent, and the old cartridge's remaining pages are a fair trade for a uniform stack.

What cover does the cartridge carry?

Our 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns apply, as they do to every cartridge we sell. The terms are on our shipping and returns page. Orders ship from IL, PA, GA and CA, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
