Frequently Asked Questions

Our LBP674Cdw runs all day — how does the high-yield set change our routine?

Mostly by making toner a rare event. The Canon 069H black cartridge 5098C001 is rated at 7,600 pages, so a printer producing a few hundred pages a day can go weeks between black changes instead of days. The colors — cyan 5097C001, magenta 5096C001 and yellow 5095C001 at 5,500 pages each — last longer still in a text-led office. Toner stops being a weekly errand and becomes something checked occasionally, like paper stock.

Run the cost comparison for a busy LBP674Cdw.

This set is $230.15 for four cartridges — $57.54 each on average — against $285.60 for the same Canon 069H cartridges bought one at a time, a saving of $55.45. At rated yields that average price puts black pages at roughly 0.8 cents and color pages at about 1 cent. The standard Canon 069 set for this printer is cheaper to buy at $155.85, but its 2,100-page black and 1,900-page colors put the running cost near double per page, and a busy LBP674Cdw would burn through several standard sets in the time one H set lasts.

Does the LBP674Cdw take all four of these cartridges?

Yes. The LBP674Cdw works with both the standard Canon 069 line and this high-yield Canon 069H line, one cartridge per slot: black 5098C001, cyan 5097C001, magenta 5096C001, yellow 5095C001. The slots are keyed by color, so each cartridge only fits its own position. You can also mix yields by slot — an H black with standard colors, for instance — if you are finishing off older stock while moving up to the H line.

With yields this long, will a cartridge sit installed so long it suffers?

No — toner is a dry powder and does not dry out, gel or settle into uselessness the way liquid ink can. A cartridge installed for months prints its last page like its first, provided the printer lives in a normal office environment. The same applies to any cartridge from the set held back in its sealed box as a spare: stored flat, cool and dry, it will be ready when its turn comes, which on a busy machine will not be a short wait anyway.

We print color in bursts — presentations one week, none the next. Still the H set?

Likely yes, because the black is doing the everyday work regardless: 7,600 pages of black carries the daily document load, and bursty color simply means the 5,500-page colors last a long while between bursts — no penalty for slow use, since toner does not age in the machine. The case for dropping to the standard Canon 069 set is a printer that is lightly used overall, where even the black takes a year to finish; that is not the profile of an all-day LBP674Cdw.

What if a cartridge underperforms — and how fast can a replacement reach us?

Each compatible Canon 069H cartridge is covered by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, judged on its own: a weak yellow is replaced alone, without disturbing the three cartridges still working. Our shipping and returns page covers the process, and we dispatch from whichever of our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California warehouses is closest to you. Support is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST for troubleshooting before anything ships back.

About This Canon 069H 4-Pack for the LBP674Cdw

High-yield Canon 069H cartridges sized for a hard-working imageCLASS LBP674Cdw: the 7,600-page black 5098C001 and three 5,500-page colors — cyan 5097C001, magenta 5096C001, yellow 5095C001. The $230.15 set saves $55.45 over the four singles and cuts the swap routine down to a few times a year, at roughly a cent a page. When this printer's workload eases, the standard-yield Canon 069 set fits the same slots; both appear in our Canon toner range.

The set breaks down into the Canon 069H black cartridge, the Canon 069H cyan cartridge, the Canon 069H magenta cartridge and the Canon 069H yellow cartridge when you only need one color at a time; the other yield class is sold the same way, as the complete Canon 069 four-cartridge set. This cartridge runs in the ImageClass MF751CDW, ImageClass MF753CDW and LBP-674CDW.
