Frequently Asked Questions

What does 15,000 pages per cartridge mean for a working copier room?

It means toner stops being a monthly conversation. One GPR6BK is rated for 15,000 pages, so a department producing 3,000 pages a month changes cartridges roughly twice a year, and even at 5,000 pages a month a single lasts a full quarter. At $37.32, the rated cost works out to about 0.25 cents per page bought singly — respectable for a one-off, and the multi-packs on this page pull it lower still.

Is this a genuine Canon cartridge?

No — it is a compatible replacement for the Canon GPR-6, built to the original's specifications and sold under our own supply programme, which is why it costs what it does. Installation is the exchange you already know on your imageRUNNER: the old unit comes out, this one seats in its place, and the machine is back in service. No tools, no settings, no service call.

GPR-6 versus GPR-18 — if our other department uses GPR-18, can we share stock?

You cannot. The Canon GPR-6 and the Canon GPR-18 are different cartridges for different imageRUNNER machines, and neither substitutes for the other. Each department's shelf has to carry its own family. The check that never fails is the label on the cartridge inside your machine: if it reads GPR-6, this GPR6BK is your cartridge.

The machine warns toner is low but output still looks solid — change it now?

Not yet. The warning is an estimate, and on a 15,000-page cartridge the reserve after the warning can still hold a meaningful number of pages. A gentle side-to-side rock redistributes the toner and evens coverage back out. The change is due when text turns genuinely faint or streaky across the page — on a cartridge this size, swapping at the first warning throws away real money.

What cover does this cartridge carry?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, with the full terms on our shipping & returns page. If the cartridge leaks, fades long before its rating or streaks from the start, contact us with a description of the output and we will replace or refund it — a high-yield cartridge should never become a high-value problem.

How quickly does a replacement reach us, and who do we call?

Orders leave from the nearest of our four warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California — which keeps a restock down to days. Support is a real person Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, whether the question is about an order, an installed cartridge or which pack size your volume actually justifies.
