Frequently Asked Questions

Why stock two GPR-51BK cartridges instead of reordering when one runs out?

Because on a production imageRUNNER, black rarely runs out at a convenient moment — it runs out in the middle of a copy job somebody needs. This 2-pack puts 38,000 pages of black on the shelf: one cartridge working, one sealed in reserve. The changeover takes minutes and the job finishes the same day, instead of waiting on a delivery.

What does the second cartridge in this pack really cost?

Less than the first. A single GPR-51BK is $71.90; this pair is $125.32, so the second cartridge effectively adds $53.42 — and the per-cartridge price across the pack is $62.66. Against buying two singles at $143.80, the pack saves $18.48 for exactly the same cartridges.

Does the yield change because the cartridges come as a pair?

No. Each GPR-51BK in the box is the same cartridge as the single listing, rated at up to 19,000 pages at standard 5% coverage. Dense production work — heavy solids, big graphics — will pull that figure down on either cartridge; the pack changes the price and the shelf stock, not the rating.

How should the spare be stored until it is needed?

Sealed, in its box, in a cool dry cupboard away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Toner cartridges waiting in reserve keep best unopened; open the second GPR-51BK only when the first is done, and rotate it in as the working cartridge while the next order is placed.

Are both cartridges covered the same way?

Yes. Each compatible cartridge carries our 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, whether it came from a single listing or a multi-pack. If either unit streaks, fades early or leaks, contact support Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST and we will sort it.

Is two the right shelf quantity for a busy machine?

For one black-heavy imageRUNNER, a working cartridge plus one spare is the minimum sane buffer. If your meter readings say a cartridge lasts under a month, step up to the 3-pack or 5-pack of the GPR-51BK — the per-cartridge price falls at each step, and the shelf maths gets easier, not harder.
