Frequently Asked Questions

Why does this cartridge yield a third more pages than the GPR-35 at nearly the same price?

Because the two cartridges serve different machines with different toner capacities. This Canon GPR-34 black cartridge (GPR34BK) is rated at 19,400 pages and costs $58.04 — sixty-six cents less than the GPR-35 single, which is rated at 14,600 pages for $58.70. On paper the GPR-34 is plainly the better value per page. What decides the purchase, though, is not the comparison table: it is the badge on your imageRUNNER.

Can we use the GPR-34 in a machine that takes the GPR-35, since it is better value?

No. The cartridges are built for different machines and are not interchangeable; a GPR34BK does not fit or run in a GPR-35 machine, whatever the price advantage. The right way to read the comparison is simpler: if your machine takes the GPR-34, you are on the luckier side of the Canon range — more pages per cartridge and a lower running cost come with the territory.

What does a printed page cost with this cartridge?

Roughly 0.30 cents. Divide the $58.04 price by the 19,400-page rating and the toner cost per page lands at three-tenths of a cent, measured at the standard 5% coverage used for yield ratings. Dense copy work will pull the real figure up somewhat, light text work pushes it down, but for budgeting purposes this is one of the cheapest black toner rates in the imageRUNNER range.

What does 19,400 pages look like in a working office?

It looks like a long interval between toner warnings. A department machine producing a few thousand pages a month can run a single GPR34BK for the better part of a year; even a hard-worked shared copier will measure its life in months. Fewer cartridge changes also means fewer interruptions, fewer orders to raise, and fewer chances for a job to stall on an empty machine.

Is this a genuine Canon cartridge?

No. This is a compatible cartridge built to the Canon GPR-34 specification and sold under our own brand, which is how it holds the full 19,400-page rated yield at $58.04. It fits your imageRUNNER exactly as the original does and is rated to deliver the same page count.

What cover do we get with it?

A 1-year warranty, and free returns within the first year if the cartridge fails to perform. Orders ship from the nearest of our four warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — and our support team is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. The full terms are set out on our shipping and returns page.
