Frequently Asked Questions
Why does a shared department machine want its spare already on site?
Because the cost of an empty imageRUNNER is measured in other people's time — the queue of staff standing at a dead copier, the job sent to a slower machine down the corridor. This 2 pack keeps one GPR34BK in the machine and its replacement in the cupboard beside it. When the warning finally becomes a stop, the fix is a two-minute swap by whoever is standing there, not a delivery window.
What does the pair save over buying two singles?
Two Canon GPR-34 singles cost $116.08. This pack is $97.59, saving $18.49, which brings the per-cartridge price down to $48.80 and the running cost to roughly 0.25 cents per page, from about 0.30 cents on the single. Across the 38,800 rated pages the two cartridges hold, that five-hundredths-of-a-cent step adds up to real money on a busy machine.
How long can the spare sit in storage before it goes in?
A good while, if it is kept properly: sealed in its packaging, in a cool, dry cupboard away from direct sunlight and heat. A GPR34BK is a high-capacity cartridge, so on all but the busiest machines the spare may wait months — that is expected, and stored this way it will be ready when its turn comes. Rotate it to the front when any newer stock arrives.
How does this pack compare with the GPR-35 2 pack?
Honestly, in the GPR-34's favour: this pack is $97.59 against $98.89, and it holds 38,800 rated pages against 29,200 — about 0.25 cents per page against roughly 0.34. But the comparison only helps if you run both machine types. The cartridges are not interchangeable, and each machine takes the one it was built for; buy the pack that matches the badge on your copier.
Is fitting the spare a job for our IT team or a service engineer?
Neither. Toner changes on an imageRUNNER are designed for the people who use the machine: open the front cover, slide the spent GPR-34 cartridge out, slide the fresh one in until it seats. No tools and no service visit — the whole job sits comfortably inside a coffee break, and the print queue carries on where it left off.
What backing comes with the pack?
Both cartridges are covered by our 1-year warranty, with free returns within the first year if either fails to perform. Orders ship from the nearest of our warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, keeping most deliveries within a few business days. Support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the full terms are on our shipping and returns page.
