Frequently Asked Questions
The second cartridge in this pack costs about ten dollars — how?
That is the honest arithmetic of the GPR-18 ladder: a single GPR18BK is $28.78, and this 2-pack is $39.09, so the second cartridge adds only $10.31 to the order. Per cartridge you are paying $19.55 instead of $28.78, and compared with buying two singles at $57.56, the pack saves $18.47. The per-page cost drops from about 0.35 cents to roughly 0.24 cents. There is no catch in the cartridge itself — same 8,300-page rating, twice over.
Why do busy departments default to the 2-pack instead of singles?
Because the costliest toner event in an office is not the cartridge — it is the empty machine at 4 PM with a deadline on it. A 2-pack means one cartridge in the imageRUNNER and one on the shelf, so a change takes minutes and the reorder conversation happens calmly, not mid-crisis. For a department that goes through a cartridge every few months, that rhythm — install one, order the next pack — is the whole system.
How much printing does this pack actually cover?
Two cartridges at 8,300 rated pages each give you 16,600 pages of cover. At 1,500 pages a month that is close to a year of departmental printing; at 3,000 a month, roughly five to six months. Pages with heavy coverage use toner faster than the 5% rating assumes, so high-coverage departments should treat those figures as the optimistic edge.
Is this the right cartridge for our machine?
Check the cartridge currently in the machine: this pack replaces the Canon GPR-18, and the code on the outgoing unit's label — GPR-18 — is the confirmation. Note that the Canon GPR-6 is a different cartridge for different imageRUNNER models; GPR-18 and GPR-6 are not interchangeable, so order by the code on the label, not by appearance.
What if one of the two cartridges turns out to be faulty?
Both cartridges carry the same cover: a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, detailed on our shipping & returns page. If a unit fades early, leaks or produces streaked output, contact us with a description of the pages and we will make it right — a bad cartridge should never sit in a working machine while paperwork waits.
How fast can a pack reach us, and can we reach a person?
Orders ship from whichever of our four warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — is closest to you, so restocks arrive in days rather than weeks. If anything about the order or the cartridges needs a human, our support team answers Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
About This Canon GPR-18 Compatible Toner 2 Pack

The narrow step between the single and this pack is exactly why it is the natural restock size for an imageRUNNER department: one cartridge working, one in reserve.
