Frequently Asked Questions

What does this set actually save against buying the four cartridges one at a time?

The four Canon 131 cartridges sold singly are $34.70 each, so a full round bought one by one comes to $138.80. This set is $83.33 — a saving of $55.47, which works out to about $20.83 per cartridge instead of $34.70. If your printer is anywhere near needing more than one cartridge, the set is the cheaper way to get there.

How many pages does one full set cover?

The cartridges are rated in two classes, and they do not empty together. The black 131BK is rated at 2,400 pages, while each colour — 131C, 131M and 131Y — is rated at 1,500 pages. Black usually leads the way out because most office pages are mostly text, so expect to be reaching for black again while colour is still in reserve. We quote the classes separately rather than adding them into one big number that no real workload would ever match.

Only one cartridge is empty — does a four-cartridge set still make sense?

Often, yes. Fit the empty one now and keep the other three sealed as your spares. A set also gives you a known starting point: when all four go in around the same time, colour balance is even and you can judge the whole set's life from one date instead of tracking four separate histories.

Which cartridges are in the box?

One of each: the black Canon 131BK, plus the 131C cyan, 131M magenta and 131Y yellow. These are compatible cartridges built to the Canon 131 specification — not Canon-made cartridges — and each one is the full-size version, not a reduced starter fill.

How should the cartridges we are not fitting yet be stored?

Keep them sealed in their bags, lying flat, in a cool dry cupboard away from direct sunlight and heaters. Stored that way, a spare sits happily until the day it is needed, and fitting from a sealed bag means no dust or light has reached the cartridge in the meantime.

What cover comes with the set if a cartridge misbehaves?

Every cartridge in the set carries a one-year warranty and one-year free returns — fit one with confidence, and if it prints poorly or fails early we will sort it out. The full terms are on our shipping & returns page, and our support team is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM CST.
