Frequently Asked Questions

Why is cyan the color offices go through first?

Everyday business graphics lean heavily on blue — charts, links, logos, and presentation templates all pull cyan harder than the other colors. That is why cyan so often shows the low warning while magenta and yellow still have life left. This cartridge gives you a full 6,500-page cyan supply at $33.88 so the imbalance is cheaper to correct.

What does 6,500 pages of cyan cost per page?

At $33.88 for 6,500 rated pages, the math lands at roughly 0.52¢ per page. Ratings assume the standard 5% coverage; pages with large blue backgrounds or full-color photos will use cyan faster, while text documents with a color header barely sip it.

Can I replace only the cyan and leave the other colors in?

Yes — each color is an independent cartridge, so a low cyan never forces you to touch black, magenta, or yellow. The TN436C runs in the HL-L8360CDW, HL-L8360CDWT, HL-L9310CDW, MFC-L8900CDW and MFC-L9570CDW, and swapping just the empty color is exactly how these machines are meant to be maintained.

How does this tier compare with the TN433 cyan?

The TN433C is rated at 4,000 pages; this TN436C carries 6,500 pages in the same slot — over 60% more cyan per change. If your printer lives on charts and reports, that difference means noticeably fewer interruptions across the year.

Does the drum need changing at the same time as the toner?

No. These printers use a separate DR890 drum unit rated around 30,000 pages, so several toner cartridges typically pass through one drum. Only replace the drum when the printer asks for it or print quality points to the drum rather than a low toner.

What if this cyan cartridge gives me trouble?

It is covered by a 1-year warranty, and you can return it free of charge within the first year — details are on our shipping and returns page. We ship from IL, PA, GA, and CA warehouses, with support available Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST.

About This TN436C Cyan Cartridge

The TN436C answers the most common color shortage on this platform: cyan, rated at 6,500 pages for $33.88 (about 0.52¢ per page). It drops into the same slot as the 4,000-page TN433C and stretches the interval between color changes by more than half. Keep one on the shelf and a low-cyan warning becomes a two-minute swap instead of a stalled print queue — see the rest of the family on our Brother toner page.
