Frequently Asked Questions

Why keep a shared supply closet stocked with five of the same cartridge?

Because the imageRUNNER 5000 and 6000 family all drink from the same well. Every machine in the family — 5000, 5020, 6000, 6020 and their variants — takes the GPR-4 (part number 4234A003AA), so a single shelf stock of five cartridges covers every departmental machine on the floor. Nobody has to check which machine is out before reordering, and nobody installs the wrong cartridge, because there is only one cartridge.

What does the 5-pack bring the per-cartridge price down to?

$59.85 per cartridge, against $74.65 for a single — the pack is $299.26, saving $73.99 against five individual orders. At 33,000 pages per cartridge, that is roughly 0.18 cents per page across the pack's 165,000 pages. For machines with years of service left in them, locking the consumable cost at that level is most of the argument for keeping them.

Which machines does this pack cover?

All five cartridges are Canon GPR-4 (4234A003AA) black toner for the imageRUNNER 5000, 5000E, 5000EN, 5000i, 5000V, 5020, 5020i, 6000, 6020 and 6020i. If a machine on your floor takes a different family — a newer ADVANCE model, for instance — this pack does not cover it, and it is worth confirming the mix before ordering for a whole site.

How do we keep five cartridges organized so they get used in order?

One shelf, one rule: new arrivals go to the back, installs come from the front, and the delivery month goes on each box in marker. Sealed cartridges store flat in a cool, dry closet without any special handling. The failure mode to avoid is not spoilage — it is three different closets each holding a partial stock nobody can see in full.

What protection covers a pack bought for a whole floor?

Each cartridge carries a 1-year warranty against defects and 1-year free returns if it does not perform as it should — buying in a 5-pack does not change the per-cartridge coverage. Full terms are on our shipping and returns page, and our support team is reachable Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

When is the 5-pack the wrong choice?

When the fleet is about to change. If a machine replacement is budgeted this year, or volumes are migrating to a newer platform, five cartridges of a legacy family can outlive the machines they fit. In that case the 3-pack keeps most of the per-cartridge saving with half the commitment. If the 5000/6000 fleet is staying, though, this is the cheapest way to feed it — see the family range on our Canon toner page.
