Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cheapest per-page way to buy GPR-4 toner?

This pack size. Five GPR-4 cartridges (part number 4234A003AA) at $299.26 is $59.85 a cartridge, and at the rated 33,000 pages each, the toner cost works out to roughly 0.18 cents per page across 165,000 pages. Singles run about 0.23 cents and the 3-pack about 0.19, so the ladder is consistent: the more of the family's toner you commit to at once, the less each page costs.

This "Premium" 5-pack costs the same $299.26 as the standard 5-pack — is there any difference?

On the numbers, no — and we would rather say so plainly. Same GPR-4 cartridge, same 33,000-page rating, same part number 4234A003AA, same $59.85 per-cartridge math, and the same 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns standing behind it. An adjective in a listing title is not a specification. Order from either listing with confidence, and judge the cartridge by its output in your machine.

Which machines does this pack fit?

The GPR-4 fits the imageRUNNER 5000, 5000E, 5000EN, 5000i and 5000V, plus the imageRUNNER 5020, 5020i, 6000, 6020 and 6020i. If your machine's toner door or supply list shows GPR-4 or 4234A003AA, these are its cartridges. Newer ADVANCE-series machines take different families and cannot use this pack.

How long will five cartridges last a typical department?

The pack holds 165,000 pages. A single shared machine at 5,000 pages a month stretches that past two years; two machines at similar volume halve it. That range is exactly why the honest way to size this order is your meter history, not a guess — and why, if the total points to under a year of coverage, this pack is the right size, while a two-year horizon argues for the 3-pack instead.

What if one cartridge in the pack is defective?

It is covered individually: a 1-year warranty against defects and 1-year free returns if it does not perform as it should, the same as a cartridge bought on its own. Before assuming a defect, rock the cartridge gently side to side to redistribute settled toner — that resolves most fading complaints on long-life cartridges. The full policy is on our shipping and returns page, and support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

Where does an order like this ship from?

From one of our four US warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California, whichever reaches you soonest. For a supply closet restock that is a convenience; for a floor that is down to its last cartridge, it is the difference between a short wait and a long one. You can review the other pack sizes in this family from our Canon toner page.
