Frequently Asked Questions

Why does nobody notice the yellow going until the greens are wrong?

Because yellow fails quietly. It is the palest colour in the Canon GPR-36 mix, so as this cartridge — part number 3785B003AA — fades, the page does not lose an obvious colour; instead greens drift blue, warm greys turn cold and highlights lose their warmth. On an imageRUNNER C2020 or ADVANCE C2020, C2030 or C2225, the first person to print something green is usually the one who discovers a yellow that has been fading for weeks.

What is the simplest routine to catch it early?

A test page once a month. Look at the solid yellow block by itself: if it prints pale or patchy while the cyan and magenta blocks are strong, the yellow is finishing its 19,000-page rating and a replacement should be ordered before a deadline job depends on it. On a departmental machine the check takes a minute and one sheet of paper.

What does this cartridge cost to run?

The GPR-36 yellow is $71.06, identical to the family's cyan and magenta singles, against a rating of up to 19,000 pages — roughly 0.37 cents per page for the yellow component at standard coverage. Because all four GPR-36 cartridges share the same rating, a department can hold one spare of each and know the whole set runs to a similar rhythm.

Does the yellow sit last in the part-number sequence — and does that matter?

It does, and it helps. The GPR-36 codes run black 3782B003AA, cyan 3783B003AA, magenta 3784B003AA and yellow 3785B003AA. Stores staff who shelve in sequence can find the yellow by position, but the order itself should still quote 3785B003AA in full — position is a memory aid, the part number is the guarantee.

Will mono copying from other departments drain this cartridge?

No. Black-and-white work draws on the black cartridge alone. The yellow is consumed only by colour output — charts, covers, presentations and anything containing greens or warm tones — so on a shared machine its life tracks the colour users, not the total meter count. That is worth knowing before blaming a high-volume mono department for a colour cartridge's short life.

What if a fresh yellow does not bring the greens back?

Re-check the test page: if the yellow block is now strong but greens are still off, the cyan is the next suspect. And if the cartridge itself is at fault, it is covered — every compatible cartridge we sell carries a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, with support available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. Terms are on our shipping & returns page.
