Our greens have gone blue and nobody can say when it started — which cartridge is that?

The yellow, almost every time. In the Canon GPR-31 family the yellow — part number 2802B003AA — fades so gradually that the change hides: greens are mixed from cyan and yellow, so as the yellow weakens they slide toward blue, and warm tones print cold, long before output looks obviously broken. How do we test for it before an important run?

Print the machine's test page and look at the solid yellow block on its own. If it is pale or patchy against strong cyan and magenta blocks, the yellow is finishing. A greener test: print a solid green block — if it comes out blue-leaning while the cyan block is strong, the yellow is confirmed as the weak unit. The check takes a minute and costs one sheet.
