Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the cyan the cheapest colour single in the GPR-31 family?
Because the listings are priced that way — the numbers are what they are. This cyan, part number 2794B003AA, is $85.81; the family's yellow is $116.76 and the magenta $133.64, yet all three carry the same 27,000-page rating. There is no specification gap behind the spread. If your department is refreshing colours, the cyan is simply the least expensive of the three to replace, at roughly 0.32 cents per page at standard coverage.
Our output is heavy on blue — charts, covers, branded documents. What does that do to this cartridge?
It shortens its life against the rating. Cyan builds blues and half of every green, so a department whose work leans blue draws the 2794B003AA down faster than the 27,000-page figure — measured at standard coverage — suggests. On the imageRUNNER C5030/C5035 and ADVANCE C5030 through C5240 machines, blue-heavy sites do well to keep one cyan in reserve rather than discovering an empty cartridge at the start of a print run.
What are the tell-tale signs the cyan is the cartridge to change?
Blues print dull or teal, skies grey out and greens lose their freshness, while reds and yellows still look right. Print a test page with a solid blue block: patchy, washed-out output confirms the cyan. If all four colours are weak together, suspect something shared in the machine rather than one cartridge.
Can this cyan be stocked for any machine in our ADVANCE fleet?
Yes. The same 2794B003AA fits the imageRUNNER C5030 and C5035 and the ADVANCE C5030, C5035, C5235, C5235A and C5240, so one shelf slot covers the fleet. Keep the box sealed and flat, away from heat and sunlight, and rotate stock so the oldest cartridge is fitted first.
Which code should the requisition carry?
2794B003AA for this cyan. The GPR-31 sequence runs black 2790B003AA, cyan 2794B003AA, magenta 2798B003AA and yellow 2802B003AA — close enough that a name-only order can be mis-picked, which is precisely why fleets order against the part number.
What happens if a new cyan still prints dull?
Every compatible cartridge we sell is covered by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, so a faulty unit is our cost, not yours. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST to help read the test-page evidence, and the full terms are on our shipping & returns page.
