Frequently Asked Questions
Our purchasing department orders by part number only — is 0452B003AA the black we need?
If your stores system or service contract lists the black toner for your colour imageRUNNER fleet under Canon part number 0452B003AA, then yes — this is that cartridge, the black member of the Canon GPR-23 family. It is the unit specified for the imageRUNNER C2550, C2880, C3080, C3380 and C3480 series machines. Ordering against the part number rather than a description is exactly how fleets avoid the classic mistake of receiving a colour cartridge when the black has run out.
What does a 26,000-page black cartridge mean for our reorder cycle?
The GPR-23 black is rated at up to 26,000 pages — close to double the 14,000-page rating of the family's three colours. On a departmental machine copying a few thousand pages a month, one 0452B003AA can cover a full quarter or more, so most sites set their reorder point by the meter reading rather than the calendar: when the counter suggests the cartridge is most of the way through its rating, the next one goes on the purchase order.
What is the black cost per page at this price?
At $111.39 for a cartridge rated at up to 26,000 pages, the black component works out at roughly 0.43 cents per page at standard coverage. For a fleet manager building a cost-per-copy figure across the GPR-23 family, that is the number to use for the black share; the colour cartridges carry their own per-page figures.
Can this black be stocked centrally for several different machines?
Yes, and that is one of the practical advantages of the GPR-23 platform: the same 0452B003AA black serves the C2550, C2880, C3080, C3380 and C3480 series alike. A central stores shelf holding this one part number covers every machine in that fleet, instead of a different black for each model. Keep it sealed, flat and out of direct sunlight until the day it is fitted.
Our prints have gone grey and washed out — is it this cartridge?
Uniformly pale output across the whole page usually means the black is near the end of its life. Before replacing it, take the cartridge out and rock it gently side to side to redistribute the toner, then print a test page — if density comes back, you have some life left; if it stays pale, the cartridge is genuinely finished. If only one side of the page is pale, that points to uneven toner distribution rather than an empty cartridge.
What cover do we have if a cartridge arrives faulty?
Every compatible cartridge we sell carries a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, so a defective 0452B003AA goes back to us rather than into your write-off bin. Our support team is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if you want to talk through a print problem first, and full terms are on our shipping & returns page.
