Frequently Asked Questions

What is the case for five cartridges at once?

Volume certainty. Five Canon 106 cartridges deliver up to 25,000 rated pages, and an office that has run the same MF6500 series machine for years knows its consumption better than any forecast — if the counter says 2,000 pages a month, this pack is a year of toner, bought at $33.05 per cartridge instead of $47.84. The saving against five singles is $73.94, and the cost per page lands near 0.66 cents. There is also the invisible saving: one purchase order, one delivery and one invoice instead of five of each.

How does this pack compare with the 10 pack?

The 10 pack is cheaper per cartridge — $31.20 against $33.05 here — and dearer in total: $312.03 against $165.26. Choose by shelf and certainty. If 25,000 pages is roughly a year of printing, this 5 pack matches stock to horizon neatly. If your machine does double that, the 10 pack's extra $1.85 per cartridge saving adds up. What we would not advise is buying the 10 pack for a machine whose workload you have not measured; check the page counter history first.

Are these the same cartridges as the single and the 2 pack?

The same Canon 106, part number 0264B001AA, rated 5,000 pages each at 5% coverage, fitting the imageCLASS MF6530, MF6540, MF6550, MF6560, MF6580, MF6580CX, MF6590 and MF6595. Pack size changes price and quantity only — never the cartridge, the fill or the rating.

What if our machine dies with cartridges still on the shelf?

Two safety nets. First, the pack carries 1-year free returns as well as the per-cartridge 1-year warranty, so an early change of plan is not a total write-off — the terms are on our shipping and returns page. Second, these cartridges fit the entire MF6500 platform, and those machines are plentiful on the used market; a replacement MF-series unit takes the same 0264B001AA cartridge, so shelf stock usually survives a machine swap within the family.

How should a year's worth of cartridges be kept?

Like a stockroom, not a storeroom afterthought: sealed in their bags, flat, in a cool dry cupboard, dated on arrival, oldest installed first. Toner cartridges are robust shelf goods — heat, humidity and sunlight are the hazards, not the calendar. Rotate properly and the fifth cartridge prints like the first.

Who should skip the 5 pack?

Anyone whose machine prints under roughly 700 pages a month: at that rate this pack is a three-year supply, and plans, premises and machines change over three years. The 2 or 3 pack keeps most of the discount with a fraction of the commitment. Our support team — Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST — will happily run your numbers with you before you order.
