Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the TN770 fit only four printers when the TN760 fits nine?

Because the TN770 is a bigger physical fill that only the later machines on this platform were built to accept. The four are the HL-L2370DW, HL-L2370DW XL, MFC-L2750DW and MFC-L2750DW XL. The other models that take the TN730 and TN760 — the HL-L2350DW, HL-L2390DW, HL-L2395DW, DCP-L2550DW and MFC-L2710DW — cannot use it, and no amount of persuasion changes that. Check your model against those four before ordering; this is the one cartridge in the family where the model check genuinely matters.

What does the super high yield buy me over the TN760?

Fifty percent more pages per cartridge — 4,500 against 3,000 — and therefore a third fewer cartridge changes over the same volume. For a machine in a shared office where every swap means someone's print job waiting, that interval is the real product. What it does not buy, at current prices, is cheaper pages: the TN770 works out near 3.3 cents a page, while the TN760 sits around 2.9 cents. You are paying a small per-page premium for the longer run, and this page will not dress that up as a saving.

How does the TN770 compare with simply buying two TN760 cartridges?

Two TN760 cartridges give you 6,000 pages for $173.98; one TN770 gives 4,500 pages for $147.49. The pair is more pages and more money; the TN770 is one intervention instead of two and less cash committed today. Neither answer is wrong — it hinges on whether your constraint is budget per order or tolerance for interruptions. Heavy users on these four models usually value the uninterrupted stretch most, which is who Brother built this cartridge for.

Which printers use the TN770?

Just the four named above: HL-L2370DW, HL-L2370DW XL, MFC-L2750DW and MFC-L2750DW XL. On those machines the TN770 works alongside the same DR730 drum unit as the smaller fills, and the printer reports its level like any other cartridge in the family. Owners of the platform's other five models should stay with the TN760 as their largest option.

Will my printer handle the TN770 the same way as the smaller cartridges?

Yes — installation is identical: out of the box, protective cover off, into the DR730 drum, and the assembly back into the machine. The printer recognises it as a genuine Brother cartridge and gauges its 4,500-page capacity automatically. The only practical difference you will notice is how much longer the toner-low warning stays away.

What cover comes with this cartridge?

Brother's manufacturer warranty, as with all genuine Brother stock, plus our own return terms: 30 days from delivery in all cases, detailed on the shipping and returns page. Stock is held in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California and dispatched from the nearest to you; if anything arrives wrong, support is on hand Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This Genuine Brother TN770 Super High Yield Black Toner Cartridge

The largest genuine fill for Brother's compact mono platform — 4,500 rated pages at $147.49 against a $221.24 list, made for just four models and the heaviest users among them. Its trade is explicit: the longest interval between changes this platform offers, at a slight per-page premium over the TN760. The rest of the family's cartridges and drums are in the Brother range at Clever Supplies.
