Frequently Asked Questions

What does this 3 pack knock off the price of three single TN730 cartridges?

$26.67. Three singles currently come to $218.40; the pack is $191.73, which is $63.91 per cartridge and roughly 5.3 cents a page against about 6.1 cents for a lone TN730. It is a worthwhile reduction if you have already decided the standard fill suits your machines — the pack does not change what the TN730 is, it just softens the standard fill's one real weakness, its per-page price, by about an eighth.

Why choose three standard cartridges over one high-yield TN760?

Distribution. One TN760 serves one printer with 3,000 pages; three TN730 cartridges can serve three printers with 1,200 pages apiece, or one printer in three instalments spread over a long, quiet period. Small offices with a machine per desk often prefer stock that can be in three places at once. If all your pages come out of a single printer, though, the TN760 remains the better arithmetic — that comparison is not close, and we will not pretend the pack overturns it.

Is there a reason to pick this 3 pack rather than the 4 pack?

Only quantity. The 4 pack prices each cartridge at $62.80; this 3 pack at $63.91 — the fourth cartridge is the cheapest step in the family, worth $1.11 per cartridge if you will use it. Three is the right count when three is what your machines will actually consume in a reasonable span; there is no virtue in a fourth cartridge ageing in a cupboard to save a dollar apiece.

Which printers do these cartridges fit?

The platform's nine models: DCP-L2550DW; HL-L2350DW, HL-L2370DW, HL-L2370DW XL, HL-L2390DW and HL-L2395DW; and MFC-L2710DW, MFC-L2750DW and MFC-L2750DW XL. All nine share the DR730 drum unit, and each TN730 in this pack is the standard retail cartridge for them — identical to the single, boxed separately, ready to be installed wherever it is needed.

How long is a 1,200-page cartridge likely to last in practice?

At 150 pages a month, about eight months; at 300 a month, about four. Those are the volumes this fill is designed for, and at them the pack's three cartridges cover a small machine for one to two years. If you find a TN730 disappearing in a matter of weeks, the printer has outgrown the standard fill — that is the signal to move that machine to the TN760, whatever pack stock remains for the others.

How do returns work on this pack?

Thirty days from delivery to return it, in all cases, with Brother's manufacturer warranty standing behind each cartridge as genuine stock — the full wording is on our shipping and returns page. We ship from Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, and our support team answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
