Frequently Asked Questions
Two high-yield blacks in one box — who is this actually for?
An office that prints black in serious quantity and cannot afford the machine to sit idle. Each TN635XLBK in this pack is rated at 5,500 pages, so the box covers 11,000 pages of black printing. One cartridge goes in today; the second waits on the shelf for the day the first gives out, turning a supply emergency into a two-minute swap.
What does the pack knock off the price of two single XL cartridges?
A single TN635XLBK is $139.49, so two bought separately come to $278.98. This 2 pack is $250.99 — a saving of $27.99, which works out to $125.50 per cartridge instead of $139.49. The per-page cost stays the same attractive roughly 2.5 cents as the single XL; the pack simply charges you less for the same pair of cartridges.
How does this pack compare with the super high-yield black?
Different strategies. Two TN635XXLBK super high-yield cartridges would give you 15,000 pages — more than this pack's 11,000 — at about 1.9 cents a page, the sharpest running cost in the family. This XL pack wins on upfront price and on having a matched spare immediately available. Offices printing the heaviest black volume should look at the XXL; everyone else gets excellent value here.
How long can the second cartridge wait before being used?
A long while, if it is stored properly: sealed in its bag, lying flat, at ordinary room temperature, away from sunlight and heat sources. Do not unseal it early "to check it" — the sealed packaging is what keeps the toner in working condition. Stored that way, the spare will print at full quality when its turn comes.
What if I need to return the pack?
Genuine Brother products bought from us carry a 30-day return window from delivery that applies in every case, and Brother's manufacturer warranty covers defects after that period. You can read how to start a return on our shipping & returns page; the support team is available 9 AM to 5 PM CST, Monday to Friday.
